Mary Claire & Ryan Folly Beach
Wedding Photographers in Charleston
You know that feeling when something is happening exactly how it is supposed to? When Mary Claire and Ryan emailed me asking if it was possible for us to travel down to Folly Beach to photograph their wedding, I got that feeling. Yes, their Baltimore based wedding last year did have to be postponed due to COVID. However, the second I read their plan for having us come to South Carolina, I got this overwhelming feeling that THIS was how their day was always supposed to be.
Every single person that was there to witness Mary Claire and Ryan's marriage helped in making the day flawless. Mary Claire's mom was sewing and ironing, her brothers (and Ryan) were setting up the ceremony space, and Ryan's family came in ready to help get food going. Each and every guest's mission was for the day to go off without a hitch and they more than succeeded. They created a space that was peaceful and filled with love for Mary Claire and Ryan, and who doesn't want to start their marriage surrounded by that?!
Mary Claire & Ryan - first of all, thank you for even letting us in on your "crazy idea". We are so incredibly happy for you two! I know that the devastating speed bump that is COVID made it feel impossible for your wedding vision to come to life, but you two did it and you did it super well! Your day was perfect, and we are so excited to see where life takes you both. Your families are amazing and we know that life is going to be as equally amazing for you both <3.
Some fun stuff from the day!
The ring pillow used in the ceremony was made using fabric from Mary Claire's (MC) Grandma's wedding dress.
Folly Beach is where MC's family vacation every year.
Ryan's mom and stepdad road tripped from Maryland to South Carolina with the flowers, wedding cake, and crabcakes in their RV.
MC's mom made the serving boards and they were absolutely beautiful!
Ryan proposed in Folly Beach.
MC and her mom made the wedding veil, and the floral arrangements were all DIY as well!
The AC in the rental house broke the day of the wedding, so the HVAC man was kind of a wedding crasher.
They pulled this day off with just over 2 months of planning. Legends.
MC's co-workers gifted her a chambong, which safely made it all the way to Folly Beach.
Every single guest contributed to making their wedding the most amazing day ever.
This day was 2 years in the making!
