Fall was in full effect for Dani and AJ's GORGEOUS wedding at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Resort. Seriously, they could not have asked for a more beautiful day, at a more stunning venue. After seeing their day, and adventuring around the grounds with them, I have said to Shawn multiple times how much I want to do a vacation weekend here. Beginning to end, Dani and AJ's wedding was spectacular. They thought of everything, and Lorin and Sharon from Celebrations, LLC made sure that it all happened for them. I'm still dreaming about their reception space. It was a joy getting to meet in person - finally - and celebrate your amazing day. You know that feeling when something is happening exactly how it is supposed to? When Mary Claire and Ryan emailed me asking if it was possible for us to travel down to Folly Beach to photograph their wedding, I got that feeling. Yes, their Baltimore based wedding last year did have to be postponed due to COVID. However, the second I read their plan for having us come to South Carolina, I got this overwhelming feeling that THIS was how their day was always supposed to be. Every single person that was there to witness Mary Claire and Ryan's marriage helped in making the day flawless. Mary Claire's mom was sewing and ironing, her brothers (and Ryan) were setting up the ceremony space, and Ryan's family came in ready to help get food going. Each and every guest's mission was for the day to go off without a hitch and they more than succeeded. They created a space that was peaceful and filled with love for Mary Claire and Ryan, and who doesn't want to start their marriage surrounded by that?! Dusting off the ol' blog to bring you Christina and Kevin's GORGEOUS wedding at Antrim 1844 in Taneytown, Maryland. This was our first big wedding of 2021... the first one that truly felt normal after the year of COVID, and it couldn't have been a better day! After their big wedding turned into a "minimony" last year, their day this year was an opportunity to renew their vows and have the big celebration with all their friends and family. The day was filled with so much happiness, love, and DANCING. Seriously, I don't think we've seen a dance floor that full and with SO much energy in a long time. It was incredible to witness, and we are so happy that we got to capture it! Christina and Kevin, thank you so much for allowing us to be at your wedding celebration. You two are so wonderful, and even though the wait was probably VERY long - you did it! And with incredible style <3.  Some fun moments from the day! Kevin & Christina are high school sweethearts and met on the dance floor at homecoming! Making the dance floor a very important place for them :P. Christina choreographed her and Kevin's first dance. They received a standing ovation after that dance! Christina's something old was a beautiful gold ring from her grandmother. So weddings are definitely interesting right now. Smaller guests list, social distancing, and masks all make for a different kind of day. Just because it's different, though, doesn't mean it's not incredibly special. If anything, now, more than ever, weddings are even more sentimental. There's not the same feeling of rushing or stress, it's all based in a closeness that, all weddings of course have, but that closeness is much more visible today. Haley and Brandon's wedding at the Historic Hebron House was filled with so much incredible emotion. This was a day to celebrate them and their bond, which is honestly sometimes easy to forget when all of the other aspects of a wedding day take over. One of the coolest things about Haley and Brandon's wedding is that they had SIX officiants. Yes. Six officiants. Their closest friends lead them and the congregation through prayer, the vows, and blessing of marriage. Each friend that spoke and oversaw the day made it that much more special and personal. I now feel like all couples should have their friends officiate their wedding, haha. That might be a tall ask, but seriously, what people know you and your relationship better than the company that you keep and genuinely interact with? This couldn't have been a more perfect day.
